It is attached. I will be making copies for everyone. But in the meantime, it is attached below. The review is very heavily based on its colors, so I recommend printing in color or just looking at it on a phone or tablet.

I have several resources I have found which I would like to share with you all to be able to practice if you wanted extra materials. This is a link to a website that has several worksheets and the answers so that you may check your work.

I have also attached some practice tests for your perusal. The answers are at the bottom to CHECK your work. Still try it on your own.

Good luck studying!

Hello students!

As I have stated in class and had on the board for a few days now, you have a take-home exam that will count as two quiz grades in the gradebook.

You will need to go to FSAssessments.org and take your Algebra I EOC practice test. You will need to show work for your answers, turn those in to me, and have your answers on the answer sheet that I will provide to you in class. If you are out this week, come to me at any point in the day if you would like your answer sheet. You could also take the test sooner, track your answers, and then put them on the answer sheet.

Each session will count as a quiz grade and I will only grade the work if you have the answer sheet with your work attached.

If you have any questions, come see me. There is a guide on how to access the practice test below.

Have it done by next week when we take the practice test in class. Happy studying!

Now that we have finished our textbook chapters for the year, we are heading into an extensive review of the year's work. I have assigned the rest of the Khan Academy for the year, but these assignments will follow differently.

Much like the workbook pages from before, Khan Academy will now be graded out of 80%. What this means is that if you receive an 80, that will count as 100%. Also, if you receive 100, that will be 100/80 which is 125%.

YES, THIS MEANS THAT COMPLETING YOUR KHAN ACADEMY HAS AN __EXTRA CREDIT OPPORTUNITY__ IF YOU DO WELL. This is a great chance to fix grades!

Remember, this is a REVIEW. The assignments should not take multiple attempts. If they do, it is because you need to review that material and it is a good thing you found your weakness to be able to correct it. As always, come to me if you need me.

This change is being implemented because now, Khan Academy will be due twice a week (Monday and Thursday nights) so as to pace it out and be able to get through our previous assignments.

The EOC is on May 21st & 22nd. We are in crunch time.

Study hard, firebirds!

We are switching things up a bit this week because I think you all need more time to review. The original plan was that on Tuesday/Wednesday we test on Chapter 9 and on Thursday/Friday we take an EOC practice test on the EOC software to get everyone used to the program and how to flag a question, type in answers, etc.

I am flipping the schedule so that on Tuesday/Wednesday we will be taking the practice test for half the class, and reviewing some more for the Chapter 9 test that will be on Thursday/Friday.

This does NOT mean you procrastinate over the next two days. This means you have two EXTRA days to study. USE THEM.

Remember: Tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays in my classroom from 3:30-4:30. Come with questions.

Hope this helps,

The assignment that we are doing in class for a review is the Chapter 9 Practice Test from the textbook (Page 611 #1-26). I have attached the page below in case you did not finish in class. B-Day will be reviewing it in class, it is not necessary to do before class.

The extra credit is being handed out during class, but is also attached below in case you are/were absent.

STUDY FOR YOUR TEST. WE ARE OFFICIALLY DONE WITH THE TEXTBOOK, WOOO!!

It's test time again!

Attached you will find the extra credit for the Chapter 8 Test. Remember that each packet you turn in completed will be 5 points, for a maximum of 10 points.

Monday/Tuesday is the Chapter 8 Test

Wednesday/Thursday is the Q3 Post Test

Thursday night the gradebook closes. Parents, students, please keep in mind that when the gradebook closes changes will not be made. If you miss a test day, that will result in a zero for that exam, which will negatively impact your grade for the quarter.

For the quarter 3 exam, we will be administering a review of the year's work to see how much everyone has taken in. To study, I would recommend working in Khan Academy on any of your weaknesses. You could also log in to your online textbook and review the lesson-by-lesson reviews for every chapter we have done (1-8).

There is one assignment on Khan Academy that is due over spring break. The assignment is on material that will be on the tests, so I advise you to do it early, have the extra studying, and then have no work for me over the break.

Have a great, studious weekend.

Remember, one more week, and you have a break, make it count!

Keep in mind that on Monday and Tuesday (A Day and B Day, respectively), we will be having a quiz on 8.1-8.4. The quiz will take place on the whiteboards. Meaning that I will grab the clear whiteboard sleeves, insert the quiz, and you will be able to work out the problems using markers. You will then answer on a separate answer sheet.

I do not have markers to share as they have all faded and I have told you that a marker is needed for class.

Be prepared for this quiz, have a marker. This marker should always be with you, every day, even when not taking a quiz.

Thanks,

Cuartas

I noticed a lot of you did not complete your Carnegie for this week. I suggest everyone prints out the Carnegie pacing guide by clicking on the Carnegie Tab on my website. Just because it is typically one unit per week, does not mean it always is. Last night, Unit 3 AND Unit 4 were due, which was 4 workspaces total. This coming week, all of Unit 5 is due, which is 5 workspaces. I will hold off on printing my Carnegie reports this week. I will wait until next week and grade Units 3&4 at the same time I grace Unit 5 to give everyone a chance to catch up.

However, in the future, you will receive a zero for this. You need to be checking the pacing guide if you want to ensure you are doing all of your work. There is no school on Monday. I suggest you all catch up and study. Remember, I think it would be best if you finish this week's Khan earlier as well, as it will help prepare you for the test.

Remember your test is on Wednesday/Thursday.

Our Chapter 4 Test is next week!

The test ticket (lesson-by-lesson review) that we began in class is attached below. If this is not completed, your score will be affected by ten points. Complete it to receive as much credit as possible, as discussed in class.

We will be doing the same as usual, with 10 points possible extra credit (5 for each test review). Since I know the online textbook has been difficult for some to get access to, this time I am posting the extra credit test reviews as an attachment here as well. The ones that are crossed out are from sections we are not completing. All other questions must be answered.

Please print out the test and show your work next to each question.

This will be due the day of your exam - NO EXCEPTIONS!

5% can be made by completing the lesson-by-lesson review we began in class, while another 5% can be made by completing the standardized test review on the online website. This will provide the opportunity for a total of 10% added to the Chapter 3 Test grade.

Study!! And have a wonderful long weekend STUDYING! (:

There is an extra credit opportunity for the Chapter 2 Test. This must be completed and turned in on the day of the test to be counted for credit. Total points possible to be added to your chapter 2 test: 10%!

Attached is a step-by-step guide to completing the extra credit.

Study for your test!
