Parents and students, this is a friendly reminder that ALL students should come to each of my classes in possession of the required writing tools, college-lined paper, and a binder, organized according to the directions in your class syllabus, necessary for success. I will begin book checks and binder checks this week to ensure your compliance. At the moment, AP English Literature students have been issued copies of our focus literary works, but English III Honors and AP English Language students must have a copy of Arthur Miller's The Crucible.

ALL STUDENTS must bring a standard American English dictionary to each and every class.

Thank you all for your attention to these matters.
Due: 9/11/2018
Last Modified: 9/5/2018 10:02 PM
Students and parents, please note that our syllabus calls for all students to come to each and every class armed with the supplies I've listed, among them a dictionary. I can recommend a few affordable, very serviceable editions (please see the attached links). Furthermore, my students will need their copies of Arthur Miller's The Crucible by next week.

Also, please join our page at Edmodo.com, where you can open a free account using the following case-sensitive join code:

Finally, I look forward to meeting all of you at our upcoming open house on Saturday, September 15th. Please see our school website for more details.

Apologies for the late posting (which I will copy to Edmodo), but here are the reading check questions for "Disadvantages of an Elite Education." You may continue writing your responses by hand, but be sure your answers provide the context of my questions, make clear and defensible claims that you support with evidence from the author's text (and maybe, briefly, from outside the text), and that you write coherent, grammatically correct complete sentences.

If you haven't already done so, please bring me your syllabus sign-off. You needn't print a copy of the syllabus as I have a copy for you, but I'm providing your respective class syllabuses here so that you and your parents may download them. OH! And be sure to join your class Edmodo group. Parents are invited too!
