Fitness and Sports Period 6 (Period 6)

The purpose of this course is to provide in depth instruction in physical fitness, weight training and health related topics. Students will learn the importance of developing proper exercise routines. Students will also understand the importance of working cooperatively to prevent injuries and encourage fellow students. Students will develop knowledge on how to develop muscular strength and endurance by using hand held weights and machines. The course will also implement physical fitness and students will be tested throughout the semester on muscular fitness, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. Students will encounter a number of fitness tests to measure physical fitness and also evaluate improvement.
