Open the 2 attached pdfs for details. An example of the journalism portfolio is available for examination in the C building journalism room.

Overview of the program: The mass media/broadcasting major offers a specialized curriculum for students with the passion to learn about television, newspaper and print media production. The goals for this class will allow you, the student, to develop an understanding of the basic theory, techniques and procedures of television, yearbook, and print media production. The focus will be on Studio Production, allowing you to build a television show from the pre-production planning stage, to script and storyboard writing, to taping and editing. The curriculum is also designed to provide the development of Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Team Building, Interpersonal and Written Communication Skills.

The focus for print journalism, yearbook, and newspaper will be on print production, allowing students to create an annual yearbook, and 6 issues of the school newspaper while developing hands on experience with software programs standard to the industry. This focus is aimed at producing a well-rounded journalism student able to compete in the global journalism marketplace.
