Mr. Andrés Calavia-Collazos
Andrés Calavia is a visiting teacher coming from Spain. He received his Masters Degree at the University of Zaragoza, Spain. He also took different courses in the University of London, Great Britain. He started working as a teacher in 1992 and since then he is convinced that educating young people is a mission-job-goal that cannot be compared to any other endeavor. He holds a degree in School Administration in the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. He has been involved in several international programs in the European Union and has worked with a high school in the United States. Moreover, Mr Calavia has also been a professor in the School of Education in the University of Valladolid. He loves writing. Since 1995 Mr. Calavia writes a column for a newspaper in Spain, which appears every Friday. He will continue writing for the newspaper during his stay in Miami. Having taught in Spain for twenty years, he has decided to experience teaching in the United States. He thinks a teacher never stops learning from his students and this is what he wants to experience in Doral Academy Preparatory. He is very proud of being part of the Firebird staff.
