Mrs. Mesra Phanord M.Ed
Mrs. Phanord graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Florida State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a double minor in education and African studies. She has had the honor of being selected Teacher of the Year (2014-15), instructional leader, presenter at South Carolina's Closing the Achievement Gap conference and English department chair. Mrs. Phanord is excited to be a part of the Doral Academy family to teach English 2 and English 3 for the 2018-2019 school year. She is a firm believer in project-based learning that inspires students to challenge their understanding and further develop their methods of expression.
English is a comprehensive course that covers all aspects of the language: grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing. This course will include projects, presentations, analytical essays, and research papers. Students will be given adequate time to work on lengthy assignments both in class and at home. Please note: extra credit is not provided and late work is not accepted! This policy helps to promote academic responsibility; also, plagiarism of any kind will receive a zero.
