Mrs. Ilse Cardelle
Prior to joining Doral Academy as an English teacher last year, Mrs. Cardelle had a variety of teaching experience in diverse places. She began as an English and Journalism teacher at Miami Senior High School in 1990, but then took time off to raise her seven children and homeschool some of them. In 1999, she and her family moved to North Carolina, where she taught Middle School and High School Spanish, ESOL, and Reading/Writing at a Catholic school and later, at a public school there. She also taught for many summers at the Miami Museum of Science Summer camp; everything from Marine Biology to Art to preschool. Mrs. Cardelle is a people person who loves children, reading, learning about new things, history, and the beach. This is her second year at Doral Academy, and she has enjoyed moving back to Miami after 19 years away, and working at such an excellent school.
“It is good to love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and what is done in love is well done.” -Vincent Van Gogh
