Mrs. Valerie Furr
Mrs. Valerie Furr is a native French speaker who grew up in France and spent her summers in Belgium. She and her husband have lived in Miami for eight years and have two little girls.

Mrs. Furr earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communications and Journalism in California in 2007 and worked as a writer, editor, and publisher for several publications, including her own trade magazine, before deciding to pursue her true passion: Education.

After earning her Master’s Degree in Education specializing in Cross Cultural Teaching from National University, Mrs. Furr taught elementary Mathematics as well as Reading/Language Arts for Dade County Public Schools for six years. She was also a French instructor and language expert for Rosetta Stone, and continued working as a freelance writer for local magazines.

Recently, Mrs. Furr earned her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Florida State University, and she is very enthusiastic about working at Doral Academy as a French teacher.
